LED light sources are very cost effective broad-band sources for measuring Bragg gratings. The medium power output ensures a maximum of campatibility to any measurement and/or detecting systems, i. e. CCD photo diodes, PD arrays, OSA's inputs and standard photo detectors.
Some of the medium power LED's do not need external cooling which results in a low power consumption.
